July 2019 - The residential area Skoatterwâld, east of the A32 in Heerenveen, is being built in phases. Phase 3 is currently under construction. To connect the different neighborhoods of Skoatterwâld, three new bridges have been built: one car bridge and two bicycle bridges. These are similar in design and appearance to the other bridges in the neighborhood.
Skoatterwâld, designed by urban planner Ashok Bhalotra, has a special character and a wide variety of architecture. The houses are situated in a beautiful landscape with stately avenues, park forests and water features. The bridges also have a special design that matches the character of the neighborhood.
The three bridges and the special steel bridge railings were produced and assembled by Metaalbedrijf J. Pompstra from Oldemarkt. To protect the bridge railings against the weather, Rotocoat treated the steel with the Duplex system: the combination of galvanising and powder coating. The steel is first hot-dip galvanised and then given a two-layer powder-coating in the colour RAL 9006 (aluminum color).
