July 2019 - The line is open: the new powder coating facility for wide materials is in operation and the first spiral staircase has been given a two-layer powder coating!
The new wide coating facility has two transport bridges from which the traverse with the hot-dip galvanised spiral staircase is guided to the right location to be powder coated.
Due to the size and shape of the spiral staircase, with stair treads having angles that are difficult to reach, the staircase is manually powder coated by one or two spray painters. As a result, much less powder is being used than when powder coating with robots. The little powder that ends up on the floor, falls into a well and is collected in a “big bag” by suction.
