CE marking and NEN-EN 1090

All parts of fabricated structural steelwork must bear a CE mark. To be allowed to use this CE marking, steel construction companies must comply with the requirements stated in NEN-EN 1090-1 and NEN-EN 1090-2.

Rotocoat does not need to be NEN-EN 1090 certified, but must meet the requirements to support the FPC system for CE marking used by the steel constructor.

Rotocoat complies with these requirements as Rotocoat specialises in the hot-dip galvanising of steel in accordance with NEN-EN-ISO 1461. This standard describes requirements for statistical process control of parameters such as layer thickness. Also, Rotocoat's business processes for hot-dip galvanising comply with all surface treatment guidelines described in NEN-EN 1090 and NEN-EN 1090-2. For confirmation, the steel builder can ask Rotocoat for the completed checklist below (Annex II).

Rotocoat is not allowed to add any missing boreholes or make other changes. Should we find shortcomings, Rotocoat will inform you about this and in consultation with our production department, you must drill the extra boreholes yourself.

For powder coating Rotocoat is Qualisteelcoat certified and meets the highest requirements.
