For 1D items, the spraying surface for powder coating is calculated in m2 as: length (L) times profile circumference (O): m2 = L x O
m2 = L x O with a minimum profile circumference of 0.15 m2 per metre.
m2 = L x O with a minimum profile circumference of 0.15 m2 per metre.
m2 = L x (O1 + O2)
The spraying surface is alos used for a composite profile with two corner profiles.
In practice, the surface area of the connecting strips may not be included in the calculation.
m2 = L x O
The 5% rule applies to welded parts such as welded tabs and footplates:
If the spraying surface of the welded parts is between 2% and 8% of the spraying surface of the main profile, a factor of 5% of the spraying surface of the main profile is applied for the welded parts.
If the spraying surface of the welded parts is less than 2% of the spraying surface of the main profile, no factor is applied.
If the spraying surface of the welded parts exceeds 8% of the spraying surface of the main profile, the welded parts are measured and calculated.
m2= (L x O) + (L x O)
In the case of two profiles welded together, the sum of Length times Profile circumference for both profiles separately is used.
The item must not be larger than 500 mm x 500 mm; otherwise it is no longer a 1D item.
